Caoyang Xincun offers international students a taste of local life

Constructed more than 70 years ago, Caoyang Xincun in Shanghai's Putuo district is China's first residential compound for industrial workers and opened to foreign visitors in 1953 as the first area equipped with a foreign affairs office in the city. Click the video to have a look at 40 international students from the Shanghai International Studies University visiting the compound and living as a local for one day.
